The output of the "make test" is presented below.

BTW, deleted the old installation and reinstalled Sybperl -2.18. Sybperl
commands still fail ("make test" produced the same errors as after the
first installation).

I can reach the Sybase database from my Sun Solaris box without any
problems, but I'm not sure I was given a permission to write to the DB
tables - it looks like I was not.

The most important thing is to figure out what failed during the make 
test, and why.

Please post the output of "make test", and we'll take it from there.
