No, that doesn't work (or at least didn't work with MS-SQL 7) I have not
tried this with MS-SQL 2000.

You can try this however:

$dbh = new Sybase::CTlib user, pwd, server, appname,   
                        {CON_PROPS=>{CS_TDS_VERSION => CS_TDS_42}};

Maybe that'll work (it should set the TDS_VERSION to CS_TDS_42 before
attempting the connect.
