Subject: Name too long for loginrec field

I have just installed sybperl 2.12 (perl 5.005_03) under Red Hat 6.2 and
although the 'make test' tests all work fine, any scripts (including the
examples and even the tests when run outside of make) that I have used
previously under Red Hat 6.1 without a problem, give the following
error:
DB-Library error:
Name too long for loginrec field.
isql works fine.
I am mystified...can anyone enlighten me??
