On the archives of this list, you can find discussions of support in MS SQL
Server for Sybase::Dblib and Sybase::CTlib. The situation is that it worked
in SS6.x, but broke in early releases of SS7.0 because Microsoft made some
changes to the protocol. After some people complained, MS developed a patch
which was given out to people who could grouse loudly enough and pay for
support. The patch *may* have made it into the SS7 service packs. I
suppose this indicates that Microsoft is not completely opposed to staying
compatible in future, without committing to anything though. We use
Sybase::CTlib quite successfully.
