Subject: Sybperl "Make" problems
Date: Jul 26 1999 2:41PM

I am attempting to install sybperl on a sgi and I'm getting the
following warnings:
%perl Makefile.PL
substr outside of string at /data/perl/perl5.003/lib/ExtUtils/MM_Unix.pm
line 100
substr outside of string at /data/perl/perl5.003/lib/ExtUtils/MM_Unix.pm
line 100
Writing Makefile for Sybase::BCP

I get the same two messages for each make file created.

If I attempt to run make, I get the following error:

%make
Manifying ..//Sybase::BCP.0
        cc -32 -c -I/tools/sybOCv11.1.0/include -D_BSD_TYPES -D_BSD_TIME
-Olimit 3000 -DLANGUAGE_C -O     -DVERSION=\"2.10_02\"
-DXS_VERSION=\"2.10_02\"  -I/data/perl/perl5.003/lib/SGI/5.003/CORE
-DCTLIBVS=100 -DSYBPLVER='"2.10_02"' -DDO_TIE CTlib.c
No server for this feature (-3,121:146) Connection refused

I'm not sure that these two events are related. Any insight or info on
these problems would be helpful.

Thanks,
Carrie
