Subject: DBD Sybase - experiences?

Are any brave souls doing major development with DBD?  I am in the
process of making a decision about whether to use CTLib or DBD for an
application (approx 100 tables) . I would like the application to be as
portable as possible across sybase and oracle, hence the interest in
DBD.

Will primarily be doing:
- straightforward direct select statements
- selects against views
- exec stored procedures in/out parameters
- maybe temp tables

How does performance of DBD compare to CTLib?

Experiences/anecdotal evidence gratefully received.
