Vaclav says it can't be done, as the Sybase Client libraries for Linux are
incompatible with glibc, which RH 5.0 uses as a successor to libc5.  I can't
compile sybperl or sqsh on RH 5, although the precompiled statically linked
version of sqsh will run on my machine.

Are you using sybperl 2.09?  Would you be willing to share your version with
me, to test and see if it will run?
