Subject: problems with sybperl2.08 under hpux 9.05
Date: Nov 22 1997 1:16AM

Hello. I have been having some problems compiling sybperl2.08 (with perl
version 5.04_004) on an hpux 9.05 system. I get the following errors from
make test (the make seems to go smoothly):

       PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 ./../perl -I.././blib/arch -I.././blib/lib
-I/usr/local/perl/lib/PA-RISC1.1/5.00404 -I/usr/local/perl/lib -e 'use
Test::Harness qw(&runtests $verbose); $verbose=0; runtests @ARGV;' t/*.t
t/ctlib............./lib/dld.sl: Unresolved symbol: drivers (data) from
/usr/sybase/lib/libtcl.sl
/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved symbol: netp_dlopen_sim (code) from
/usr/sybase/lib/libtcl.sl
dubious
        Test returned status 0 (wstat 134, 0x86)
        test program seems to have generated a core
t/cursor............/lib/dld.sl: Unresolved symbol: drivers (data) from
/usr/sybase/lib/libtcl.sl

/usr/sybase/lib/libtcl.sl

        Test returned status 0 (wstat 134, 0x86)

For those who are wondering, I have made certain there is no
/usr/local/lib/libtcl.sl; I compiled with LINKTYPE=static, but this does
not seem to have prevented it from trying to link at least to libtcl.sl
(is there something else that needs to be done to force libtcl.a,
presumably avoiding this problem?)

Should anyone have any help/suggestions/comments/questions, I would gladly
appreciate hearing them. Please email them to me at
jeff.bulmahn@abnamro.com.  Thanks!
