Subject: Additional Problems with loading sybperl 2.03
Date: Feb 15 1996 5:27PM

     Hi Michael.

     I have loaded sybperl 2.03 .
     I uncommented LINKING=static.

     This is the output after running perl Makefile.PL

     root@pluto:/usr/local/sybperl/sybperl-2.03 > perl Makefile.PL
     Writing Makefile for Sybase::DBlib
     Writing Makefile for Sybase::Sybperl
     Warning (non-fatal): Direct use of class methods deprecated; use
                     my $self = shift;
                     $self->MM::makeaperl();
             instead
     Writing Makefile for Sybase

     And this is the output after running make

     root@pluto:/usr/local/sybperl/sybperl-2.03 > make
     Make: Line 642: syntax error Quitting.

     This is line 642 in Makefile

     $(MAP_TARGET) :: $(MAKE_APERL_FILE)
             $(MAKE) -f $(MAKE_APERL_FILE) static $@

     I tried to set different versions of DBlib in CONFIG including :
     400,461 but that doesn't make any difference. The Makefile for
     Sybase::DBlib is created therefore that is probably not the problem.

     Please help.

     Thanks.
