I'm not picking on the poster who sent the Read Receipt included above --
it just happened to be the one I'm replying to.
These Read Receipt messages are caused by someone having posted to the
list with a mailer that requests notification of receipt. The message
you were sent when subscribing clearly says you must turn your mailer's
receipt notification *off* before posting.
I've never been able to intercept and remove the header that's causing
these with the mailing list software here, although I recently upgraded
to a new version, and I'll see if that feature is now available. But
don't hold your breath...
So, anyone using a mailer that can request notification of mail being
read, TURN IT OFF before you post here. (Pegasus mail is notorious for
this -- if you're using Pegasus, double check your settings.) And
everyone else, just delete the Read Receipt messages...
